The Simcoe County Suicide Awareness Council’s Community Memorial T.R.E.E. (meaning Together-Remembering-Everyone-Everyday) is available to be displayed at community locations throughout Simcoe County and beyond.
We are grateful to the Ramara Township Public Library at 5482 Highway 12 South,
Ramara, ON L3V 0S2 for hosting the T.R.E.E. for the past month, along with pamphlets, cards, 9-8-8 magnets, and Survivors of Suicide Loss peer-support group flyers.
The project by the Simcoe County Suicide Awareness Council has a goal to raise awareness of
suicide in our communities, highlight prevention and mental health initiatives, and to
remember those who have been loved and lost.
Suicide is often not spoken of, whether this is in an effort to provide privacy and space for people to grieve or because one doesn’t know what to say. There is still stigma attached to dying by suicide and those left behind. The T.R.E.E. is a visual reminder that to say that you are not alone, whether that is dealing with a loss by suicide or if you’re struggling with your own mental health, you are not alone. There is help and we are in your community.
The library proudly is proudly displaying this metal art piece created by local artist Bob Mason leading
up to and past World Suicide Prevention Day on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.
Please feel free to connect with us if you’re interested in hosting the Community Memorial T.R.E.E. in your
community next.
