How Can I Make A Difference

Join our compassionate team of volunteers and make a meaningful impact.  You can support us with your skills or talents.  If you've been touched by suicide and are passionate about raising awareness of suicide in our society, and decreasing stigma and shame, consider joining our team.

The Simcoe County Suicide Awareness Council is a place where all voices are heard, people can contribute and make a difference, heal from family grief and share messages of hope.

Those who join, find a caring group of individuals, camaraderie, passion, and purpose as they work together.

They find supportive resources, and projects that raise awareness of suicide, and partake in fundraising that fuels awareness and prevention in our communities.

Others who access our website leave feeling informed, connected, and better equipped to continue in life.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a place to contribute alongside a committed group of individuals from various walks of life, we would like to meet you.

We are always looking for fun and creative ways to fundraise, in order to continue to offer the opportunities we do.  Please email us, if you have a desire to help.

Our main fundraising event is our Walk of Hope, which occurs every year in Barrie, ON, at the end of May. Please check out our events page for details.

We have also hosted silent auctions.  If you have experience in fundraising, we would love to partner with you.
